Some Lovely Ornaments

My JCS ornament preview magazine arrived today, along with the threads I neeed for a Just Nan piece.

There are about 3 that I want to start right away and I may well start one tonight if I have the materials I need.

Sweetie

I've had this kit in my box for a while and just decided that it was silly not to stitch it as it should only take half an hour at the most. It will be made into a keyring, which was included in the kit, when I get round to it.

Server Error

As we Silver Surfers know, sometimes we have trouble with our computers - - -

I had a problem yesterday, so I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over.

Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?

He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.'

I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired,

'An ID ten T error ? What's that ? In case I need to fix it again.'

Eric grinned.... 'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?

'No,' I replied.

'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'

So I wrote down:

ID10T

I used to like Eric, the little monster.

It's Nearly August

I couldn't think of another title, but it's true it is nearly August and time just seems to be passing quickly.

Sports day tomorrow if the weather holds up - fingers crossed. Plus craft class, I wonder what I will come home with.

Rufford Park

Marion's Grandma came up today, took us to Asda and we had something to eat and then off to buy the school uniform for September. 2 pairs of trousers, 2 jumpers, a pack of 2 scalloped t-shirts in yellow (we would have taken another pack, but they only had the one in her size) and socks.

After that we headed to Rufford Park in Nottinghamshire and had a good afternoon. We didn't get round it all; you need a full day there really with all the grounds to see and the kids play area. We'll try and get there again in the Summer holidays.

King Henry VIII

This afternoon should have been sports day, but it was rained off. Instead Marion and her class learned about the Tudor period and Henry the eighth. She loves history (just like her mum and grandad) and of course came out of school full of this rhyme (although she couldn't remember all of it, so we googled it and found it on Horrible Histories):

Divorced, beheaded and died
Divorced, beheaded, survived
I'm Henry the Eighth, I had six sorry wives
Some might say I ruined their lives

Catherine of Aragon was one
She failed to give me a son
I had to ask her for a divorce
That broke her poor heart, of course

Young Anne Boleyn, she was two
Had a daughter, the best she could do
I said she flirted with some other man
And off for the chop went dear Anne

Lovely Jane Seymour was three
The love of a lifetime for me
She gave me a son, little Prince Ed
Then poor old Jane went and dropped dead

Divorced, beheaded and died
Divorced, beheaded, survived
I'm Henry the Eighth, I had six sorry wives
Some might say I ruined their lives

Anne of Cleves came at four
I fell for the portrait I saw
Then laid eyes on her face and cried
'She's a horse! I must have another divorce! '

Catherine Howard was five
A child of nineteen, so alive
She flirted with others, no way to behave
The axe sent young Cath to her grave

Catherine Parr she was last
By then all my best days were past
I lay on my deathbed, aged just fifty-five
Lucky Catherine the last stayed alive
(I mean, how unfair! )

Divorced, beheaded and died
Divorced, beheaded, survived
I'm Henry the Eighth, I had six sorry wives
You could say I ruined their lives.

My Hand and Arm..........

Ache like a toothache. It's making me feel sick, so I think I will have to phone the doctor to get an appointment - although it's much easier to find a needle in a haystack than to get past the receptionist to see the doctor at my surgery.

I know I have arthritis in my thumb, but this is a dull ache on the palm of my hand, thumb and first two fingers, travelling all the way up my arm to my shoulder. I'm right handed and although I do most things with my left hand, one thing I can't do is write with my left. I had to sign a couple of letters and holding the pen was really painful too.

I take glucosomine daily and I have glucosomine gel which I keep in the fridge and I have been applying that practically all day, but it's not easing the pain any at the moment.

Pain, pain go away, please don't come back another day :(

Shadow Box Card

I went to a new card making class this morning and I had a really good time. There were a couple of ladies there that I knew from another class I used to go to, but the others were a real friendly group of people and we had a good laugh.

This is the result of my morning, a shadowbox card. I'm really pleased with it and will definitely be making more of these in the future.

Happy Independence Day

Yes and we're back onto Christmas again. I think this is a little cutie and I want to stitch it again and maybe make it into an ornament.

Happy 4th July to all my American Friends and anyone else who celebrates.

Flutter By, Butterfly

Oh boy it was hot yesterday. Marion spent the afternoon in the paddling pool, thoroughly enjoying herself.

Another little piece of stitching completed. I'm doing quite well and this time it's not Christmas!!!
