Another Card

Nothing to do with Christmas this time around!!! Just a nice handmade card for any occassion.

I'm getting a lot of headaches at the moment and I think between the weather and lots of close up work (and the work I'm doing at my course on the computers) isn't helping my eyes, so I better stop delaying and book another eye test.

Marion was at Brownie camp all day today and thoroughly enjoyed herself. They were tucking into roast chicken with all the trimmings when we got there to pick them up, they were running late because of all the activities they had been doing all day. She came home tired, but very happy.

Carol Singers Finish

OK I know it's only June, but I'm just doing things that take my fancy at the moment. So here it is, another little finish stitched in a couple of evenings.

About Time

I got off my backside and did an update.

I've been in a really big slump over the past few months, I'm just fed up worrying about things and this has just completely put me off doing anything creative. I think about it a lot, but that's all I do think.

That's all changed for the time being anyway.

I was searching through my stitching stuff, looking for something small to stitch and I found this Christmas design with 3 stitches to it, so I decided that I was going to just sit and get it done. At the moment I don't really care whether it's In Season or not, just so long as I get something stitched and finished.

Now onto the next piece, which is another Christmas design.

The Talking Centipede

A chap decided life would be more fun if he had a pet.

So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet.

He finally bought a talking centipede which came in a little white box to use for his house.

He took the box back home, found a good spot for the box and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to church with him.

So he asked the centipede in the box "Would you like to go to church with me today ? We will have a good time."

But there was no answer from his new pet.

This bothered him a bit but he waited a few minutes and then asked again "How about going to church with me and receive blessings ?"

But. again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet.

So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation.

He decided to invite the centipede one last time. This time, he put his face up against the centipede's house and shouted 'Hey, you in there ! Would you like to go to church with me and learn about God ?

This time, a little voice came out of the box 'Alright, alright, I heard you the first time ! I'm putting my shoes on !!'

Happy Mother's Day

Marion made me breakfast in bed, but instead of a cup of tea she gave me a mug of water!!

She gave me packets of seeds and gardening gloves and made some cards and pulled up my flowers from the garden.

I've had a lovely day just relaxing and chilling. For dinner it's roast chicken, mini corn cobs, asparagus, parmentier potatoes and a bottle of sparkling elderflower.

A Couple of Cards

I haven't really been stitching much since my winter fob finish, but I have been making a few cards.

I've also been doing a little bit of knitting, which I'm going to auction off once it's finished towards a charity. I'm hoping to do that every couple of months and send the money to a different charity each time.

So I'm off now to do a bit of stitching, I signed up yesterday to take part in a bookmark exchange over on Facebook
which I'm looking forward to.

Winter Fob Finish

Lizzie Kate Winter Fob Kit with scissors
Stitched on 28 ct fabric with WDW and DMC threads

Started 12/03/11 and finished 17/03/11

I really enjoyed stitching this piece. I will get it finished into a fob at some stage before the Winter, but for the time being it's going into the finishing folder.

I'm not sure what to start next, but it's going to be something small and quick to keep me in the mood.

A New Start

This is how far I got last night on the Lizzie Kate fob kit I bought myself for Christmas and these cute little scissors were included. I ordered the WDW threads from DSL and they arrived on Friday. I also needed 3 DMC's and of course I don't have them, otherwise this would be finished tonight. I'll get them at the craft shop tomorrow when I'm out and then I fancy sitting down after dinner and doing nothing but stitching.

ABC, 123, ATC

I actually took part last month in an ATC group swap. The design was given to us in either cross stitch or blackwork. I decided to do the cross stitch one and I've stitched it in yellow in Satin DMC.

Haven't Been Around For Personal Reasons

It has been a very sad year for me so far this year. My Grandad, always a healthy man, has been in and out of hospital due to catheter blockages and the fact that the home haven't been caring for him properly.

The hospital looked after him well enough in January, sent him back to the home and less than 24 hours later he was back in hospital because they couldn't cope with him. This is where he stayed, basically dying due to lack of care. All they were interested in was getting the bed back.

Mine is the yellow posie

We managed to get him into a hospice and they were appalled at the state the hospital had sent him in, his catheter was blocked, he was in terrible pain and as a result he was very poorly. The following day he died of septicemia (blood poisoning) :( We were told that had he gone to the hospice home a week or even a few days earlier he would probably still be alive because they would have done a blood transfusion.

RAF Spitfire from my Cousin

His funeral was on Wednesday. It was a lovely cold, sunny day and the service went well. Marion was such a brave little girl, she's going to miss him a lot, as am I.

I am going to go and do a little stitching now and perhaps get back to some normality from now on.
