Scarf Order

Heather asked me if I would knit her a scarf that was pink without pompoms and glittery if possible. Mum and I spent 2 mornings over half term looking in shops for anything remotely pink and thought we'd have to give up.

We then found another wool shop, popped in and straight away found exactly what we were after.

I hope Heather's friend likes her Christmas present :)

I wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and enjoy your Christmas Eve.

Purple & Grey Glitter Scarf

Purple and grey glitter scarf.  I was going to give this as a present, but I like it too much and am keeping it for myself.

Purple & Pink Scarf

I am thinking of giving this as a gift to someone, but I can't make up my mind.  It's ok, it's not not for someone who reads my blog :)

On The Fifth Day of Christmas.....

On The First Day of Christmas.......

Last December I did the 12 days of Christmas, plus more cards up to Christmas Eve and I hope to do the same again this year.

So as we're officially into the final month of the year, we start with this beautiful scene card.

I've written all the cards, earlier this year because I was late last year and so many things were going on with school and I got fed up not being able to just have time to ourselves.  They're done now, most are sent, just the last few remaining.

I have this on ebay at the moment, selling in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

Happy Halloween

This is her design that she cut out for the pumpkin this year. My hands aches from scraping out the inside, altogether it took me around 4 hours.

Well worth it though, her face was a picture when she came home from school to see it lit!!

We had a few trick or treaters, not as many as last year.  After the disco she and her friend decided to trick or treat, it was spitting to start with and then got heavier and then the heavens opened, I was soaked and wanted to come home, but the pair of them were adamant they were carrying on.

Still they had a great time and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Home Grown Pumpkin

This is our home grown pumpkin for Halloween.  All 2 stone 6lbs of it.  I can't lift it to the worktop, so I've got my cushion all ready to sit in front of it for a few hours on the floor.

I've also measured the base of it and it's too big for the windowsill, so it looks like it's going to be outside on a teracotta pot - let's hope nobody pinches it.

Mannequin Card

I love this card and the colours.  It's completely different to other cards we've made in class before.  One thing I do love doing is making flowers and these colours go so well together.

I think it's Halloween for the next one and then Christmas each week from then on.  It's amazing how this year has flown by.

Christmas Meerkat

It's half term here this week and we've got lots of things planned with my parents. Let's hope the weather stays nice for us while we're out and about having fun.  I just wish we could have cold weather like we used to when I was growing up so the leaves really do crunch under your feet.

Candy Card

SanMan Originals design stitched onto gold fleck aida and mounted inside a red aperture card.

It's half term now and once we've tidied up, we're going to decorate the hall with some autumn decorations.  We've got a few things planned for half term, one being a halloween trail at Rufford Park and the cinema one day too.

Country Companions Mouse Card

I love this card, although I'm not a great fan of stitching country companions things, I couldn't wait to do this one.

I've finished another scarf and will show the photo later when my camera is charged again.

Christmas Bauble

I went to craft class this morning, it's usually on a Tuesday but we've got a workshop tomorrow.  There were only three of us in the end that could make it and this is what we made.  I'm thrilled to bits.
Large bauble with small bauble inside.

Happy Christmas Gift Tag

I stitched this piece during the summer holidays, but didn't really know what to do with it after. I had thought on a simple ornament, but my little angel cut through it and didn't leave me enough fabric so I've made it in this gift tag or it can be used as a small card.

Drunk Robin Card

I'm in the mood to make some Christmas cards using my stitching.

I'm almost finished another scarf and I have another couple in the pipelines.  I also plan on making one and auctioning it off for Breast Cancer Care.

Animals & Postbox Christmas Card

Truly into the Christmas spirit and seriously into making cards for the occassion now.    This must be in a country village or it's the farmer's animals :)

Frilly Scarf

My latest finish is this lovely soft frilly scarf.  Only took me three hours to complete.

I intend on making more of these, I'm loving them.

Beautiful, stylish, elegant.

New Technique

Today at class we did brayering, I've never done it before and neither had the others. Barbara Gray
is the expert and I love watching her when she's on the tv, but I've never wanted to go to the expense just in case it wasn't for me.

I'm not honestly convinced that I would do it again, it can be quite messy, but I am very proud of both my cards.

This one is definitely my favourite.

Ribbon Scarf

When we were away last month we came across a wool shop, Mum had been looking for a particular wool for a section on a Christmas jumper she's knitting for Marion, so I said to go in and take a look.

We looked in the window for a while at all these different wools and I remember looking at ribbon with a sample piece beside it and thought it would be impossible, but went in and saw the lady knitting one.  I decided there and then to treat myself.

I started this a couple of evenings ago, very late I might add and did pretty well.  I decided while I was waiting to leave to collect her from school this afternoon I would just sit and do a bit more and before I knew it in 20 minutes it was finished.

I Am Not a Robot

But for those of you who have the robot verification on their blog comments, it seems that I am.  I tried commenting on Barb's latest post and after 15 attempts at the verification I gave up.
I'm not blind and I can read, it just didn't accept what I was putting in.  Please don't anybody mention listening to it, as that makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Cottage and Sheep Card

I really love the scene on this card, I can just picture myself in that cottage with the sheep in the field beside me, it's my idea of the perfect house.

Golden Postbox

We have a golden postbox near to the school after Ollie Hynd won a gold medal in the Paralympics. It was already painted when we returned from the trip last night, although we did go and take a photo straight after.  I had promised her after school today she could get a nice daytime photo with the golden postbox.

Here is the one I took last night, the paint was still tacky as it had only just been posted that morning.

Paralympic Village Visit

We went with school to the Paralympic Games and what an amazing experience it was.  It's something that will never be forgotten.

Chatsworth House

Every since we watched the programme about A Year at Chatsworth, Marion has wanted to go. So we went today and had a wonderful time. Most of the pictures have been taken by the budding photographer, so I will leave you to browse the photos if you wish.

Hand stitched tapestry chairs, wonderful works of art.
