On the Fourteenth Day.....

I PANIC....

Because she breaks up from school on Tuesday and a week tomorrow it's all far too late to be doing anything as my parents come up for Christmas.

Why am I panicking? Simple - my Mum.... this year I have no clue what to get her. Usually it's my Dad I groan over, but oh no, not this year I've had his present for about 3 weeks now. I have made her a candle (or rather she's getting the reindeer candle I made a couple of weeks ago) and I always buy her turkish delight or ginger pieces. I have a little Christmas keyring that will go inside the cracker I am forcing getting my daughter to make. It's a kit, all she has to do is colour the pictures nicely, pop in the hat, joke, snapper and gift and then we put them together.

I also bought a kit to make a fabric panel bag, quite a few weeks ago, but I've never had the chance to make it. I know she will love it, it's just whether I can get it done without royally screwing it up in the process.

Happy Birthday to ME :)

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
I am now for-tee-ee
Happy Birthday to me!!

Yes on the 30th September 1971 I arrived in the world.

My daughter came in bouncing on top of me screaming Happy Birthday Mummy! (honestly I've been deaf ever since lol) and then gave me a card and my present - a beautiful tiered jewellery box (will take a photo later and show another day) and then I opened the card from my parents.

It was time to get ready for school and I promised her I wouldn't open any other cards or presents until she was back in from school.

My parents then took me to Comet and Curry's to pick out the tv they were buying me for my present. It's a nice Samsung 32" flat screen LED and with that the came the glass tv table. Haven't taken it out the box yet, we will do that later on.

We had a 'do it yourself' chinese meal for dinner, which was delicious and then I opened my cards and opened this beautiful gift from Sally I LOVE IT. Thank you so much Sally :)

There are plans for the weekend, I have to pack a dress and my swimsuit and we're staying overnight, but that's all I'm privvy to just now. So I'm off to pack and have another glass of champagne.

A Brilliant Workshop

I have never been to a Saturday Craft workshop before, usually because my daughter would never sit still for 3 hours and let everyone get on with it!!! But because she is out with my parents today, I was given the opportunity to do it and I am thrilled because I had so much fun.

First we stamped and coloured the bear, then put him onto the candle.

Next came the card. This would make a nice card for a babies first Christmas.

Here they are shown together.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I put my Christmas top on and walked into the shop to the sound of Christmas music and we also had mince pies and mini chocolate logs with our cuppa.

We did make another card, but I will leave that for another post.

Gift From Sally

It was my birthday yesterday and Sally sent me this wonderful needlecase. Isn't it beautiful? I LOVE IT. All that work that went into it, the smaller they are the more work that goes into them.

Sally has some much nicer photos on her blog. I got in too late last night to get a decent photo and today is a really miserable, rainy day.

When I got back in this afternoon there was another card waiting for me from my Cousin. I will get him back next year.
