New Glasses

If it wasn't for the stigmatism I wouldn't need glasses anymore.

Not a very flattering photo, I don't take great photos of myself.

Rudolph, Come Back

That's what this santa is saying. It's another from the WIP pile and took me 8 days to complete. You might wonder why it took so long, but it's a freebie from a magazine from years ago and in his wisdom my husband (at the time) thought it would be easier to take all the kits off the magazines and put them in a box, so I was going by the picture and it wasn't as easy as I thought.

Still it's done, it's another finish for 2011 and that's all that matters.

Fruits of my Labour

Blackcurrants are early this year, probably because of the hot weather in April and this has brought the fruit on by a month.

I have a couple of blackcurrant bushes, a whitecurrant and a couple of redcurrant bushes all struggling under the weight of the fruit. The raspberry bushes are full too, but not so many are being picked and put into a bowl, no they are being picked and eaten by Marion!! At least she's enjoying them and there's nothing fresher than home grown.

This is just what I've picked this afternoon, I gave up because I was getting too hot. This little lot weighs in at 3lbs and there's a ton more to pick.

The blasted slugs are getting on my nerves now, they've eaten her sunflowers, my courgettes and cucumbers, one tomato plant and some flowers.

I've been told I should try chilli flakes around the soil, they're not supposed to like them. I'll give it a go though, I've tried everything else.

School Photo Time

Spot the kids - this is the whole school. Not great, you can't see the kids clearly and it's a poster. £12 too, which I think is expensive. I've had photos taken where there were more in the party and you could see each person clearly.

Hockey team photo. I like this one and she wants it, but I still think £11 is expensive.

Class photo. Wishy washy, no colour to it, but a good photo and we'll get it, but I'm getting the 7" x 5" as it's £9.75.

I remember last year getting 4 copies of the class photo and it cost me less than £20 (I'm pretty sure it was £16.00).

Paddington Bear

Ah yes it takes me back to my childhood watching Paddington eating those marmalade sandwiches.

If they would only put Paddington back on our screens for this generation of kids to enjoy instead of the rubbish they have now.

If only life was that simple now.

Happy Father's Day to my Dad, even though he's with Mum in Helsinki. It's been over 20 years since I was there, I had such a fantastic time in Finland.

Another Card

Nothing to do with Christmas this time around!!! Just a nice handmade card for any occassion.

I'm getting a lot of headaches at the moment and I think between the weather and lots of close up work (and the work I'm doing at my course on the computers) isn't helping my eyes, so I better stop delaying and book another eye test.

Marion was at Brownie camp all day today and thoroughly enjoyed herself. They were tucking into roast chicken with all the trimmings when we got there to pick them up, they were running late because of all the activities they had been doing all day. She came home tired, but very happy.

Carol Singers Finish

OK I know it's only June, but I'm just doing things that take my fancy at the moment. So here it is, another little finish stitched in a couple of evenings.

About Time

I got off my backside and did an update.

I've been in a really big slump over the past few months, I'm just fed up worrying about things and this has just completely put me off doing anything creative. I think about it a lot, but that's all I do think.

That's all changed for the time being anyway.

I was searching through my stitching stuff, looking for something small to stitch and I found this Christmas design with 3 stitches to it, so I decided that I was going to just sit and get it done. At the moment I don't really care whether it's In Season or not, just so long as I get something stitched and finished.

Now onto the next piece, which is another Christmas design.
