I'm in Print

I am in this months Creative Cardmaking magazine, along with several others from the Leonie workshop back in February. I am at the back in the middle of two other ladies (only one with 3 people together by the wall with the shop banner).

That workshop was such fun, Leonie is such an outgoing, fun loving lady.  Exactly the same as she comes across on the tv.

Butterfly Card

This is from a workshop.  I've never done spritzing before, but I'm quite pleased with the end result.  The ribbon has been coloured in the same way.

We had such a fun time at the workshop, I can't wait until the next one.

Cupcakes Without The Calories

Cupcake socks, complete with cupcake case. Completely calorie free.

I was having a little event over on Facebook tomorrow in aid of Cancer Research, but unfortunately there was no interest, nobody wanted to join a virtual party from the comfort of their own home.  I was quite disappointed and have now cancelled it.

This is the design on the socks for the above cupcake.

Daisy duck, along with diamontes on her bracelet.  You can see her cupcake on the right hand side back row.

She Passed

I am so very proud of her, she passed her Stage 5 swimming tonight. I hadn't expected it, her swimming teacher had said to me she could do breast stroke, but her ankles and feet were too floppy. So imagine my surprise when my daughter comes running up to me saying "she's moving me up to stage 6".

When we went to reception to get her certificate and badge we were told that Sarah was fully booked apart from at 4pm on Tuesdays.  Not something we can do as she plays hockey, so we've got a different instructor and a different day.  Tuesday won't be so hectic for now and she might not be as tired for her swimming lessons either.  So roll on next Monday.  I know most of the instructors, but I've never met the one we will have from now on.

Cameo Couple Card

I love how you could use this card as a wedding card, anniversary.

Another elegant, stylish design I think.

Swimming, well I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but it just doesn't feel like I should hold my breath for her being put up into the next stage.

Purple Rose & Butterfly Arch Card

I love this card, it's different to the ones we've been doing in classes in recent weeks.  Elegant and stylish and I love the colours.

This is the other side of it.

1960's Day at School

This morning I saw a text from a friend that isn't the normal person that texts me. First I thought she was asking if I would pick Megan up for school, but then I realised it was worse than that.  Megan had told her Mum late last night that it was 1960's day at school.

I knew nothing about it either, my daughter was near enough in her school uniform when I read the text.  So I rush into her wardrobe to see what I can find and this photo is the end result.

It's 1970's in the next couple of weeks, but at least I know that's coming (not that I've got anything remotely 70's ish).

Graze dot com

In the past few weeks every time I've bought something in Superdrug, they've given me a coupon for a free graze box. I never bothered to look until last week and decided I might aswell just go ahead and try it, I had nothing to lose.

So I spent five minutes online putting in my likes and binning things I dislike (nuts being something I just don't like and tomatoes I'm allergic to) and waited. They're very good, they send you an email the day before and let you know that Royal Mail have picked up the box and it's thin enough just to go through the letterbox, so you don't need to be in for it to arrive.

In my box I got Mexican corn Salsa - not bad, my daughter loves it.
Apple and sultana flapjack - yummy
Apricot Torte - yummy
Mississippi barbeque pistachios - they're not bad considering they're nuts

All in all I'm quite impressed.  If anyone would like to try a box, let me know, I have a code you can use.

Boofle Baby Boy Card

I made the boy card similar to the boofle girl I did the other day.

Back to school after the bank holiday and back to classes.  I must sit myself down and get on with some stitching, but I just can't seem to be bothered these days.  I've lost the bug somehow.

Going to make some flowers this afternoon, something quick and easy and not something I have to concentrate too much on.

I'm also keeping everything crossed for swimming tonight, I so want her to move up so she can be pushed harder and further and to get her away from that girl that distracts her all too easily.

Scalloped Tag Card

Yesterday was finally a nice day so I decided to get out into the garden and cut the grass in the front and back. It was hard work as the front was last done in March and I haven't managed to get the back done at all this year. Still it's done now and looks much better for it.

This morning we decided to see if we could book seats to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. As we were getting closer to the cinema I could see a few police around and decided Mansfield Town must have been playing a match at home today seeing as it's bank holiday.

As neither of us had eaten this morning, she was too excited about going to the cinema and I was too busy trying to book the tickets, so we had a large hotdog between us, it certainly went down a treat. There was a short film first from Tangled called Tangled Ever After, it was hilarious. Beauty and the Beast was excellent in 3D.

She's happily watching Over The Hedge on the television now and I'm just getting the dinner ready, roast duck.

Happy Birthday Mum

I hope you have a wonderful day and that you love your card, just as much as I enjoyed making it for you.

Untie the ribbon and it starts to unfold.

Kusadama Ball is Complete :)

Following yesterday's paper flowers, I had to fold another 30 pieces and make another 6 flowers.  Then I had to start putting them together.

The result is this:

You do this twice and wait patiently for both parts to be completely dry before doing anything else.

Next you have to get some string and beads, but in this case I had a string of blue sequins which I thought went quite well with this union jack paper and you stick this down to one of the halves and wait for that to dry.  Next comes the part of attaching the two parts to complete the ball.

I am thrilled to bits with it and I wll certainly be making more, especially with Christmas in mind and I will be selling them for those who are interested.
