Union Flag Tshirt Card
Nice easy card and I enjoyed making it. It's not busy and it didn't take long, but it's a very striking card at the same time.

Drunk Robin
Well, well, well, you might all be saying............but yes this is cross stitch :) I know it's hard to believe that I actually still do it, but I do.
Hopefully I will get back to the bigger pieces soon, but I'm more than happy at the moment to do these smaller pieces and still enjoy doing them.

Bird Cage Card
Yesterday morning it all started, I stopped at the post office on the way into town to get some cash out and the machine froze, 5 minutes later I was still hitting cancel, then shouted into the shop and as she came out the machine finally spat out my card. I tried again and it worked fine.
On the way back from town we popped into the newsagents to get the horrible histories book that comes with the local paper, but she's decided to stop selling them now. So out we go, hot and bothered and she bursts into tears.
So we popped to Mansfield WHSmith is a book retailer and they sell the local paper, but oh no they only did the book when it was free with the paper which seems to be the case for most places I've found, they're quite willing when it's free but make them sell it and it's too much hassle.
We were told to go to the local Chad office, so in the scorching heat we went only to find they were closed. So I emailed them and said I had one very unhappy 9 year old and one extremely frustrated adult who was finding it harder and harder to obtain the books.
Later on when I was putting her bike away in the garage, she came out telling me she'd had an accident with the chocolate milkshake. All up opposite walls in the dining room and then she managed to get it across my tv. I was angry then because she could easily have blown the thing up.
To top it all off when I went to move the car further onto the drive I rolled it into the garage door. When I looked there was no damage to the car, but I couldn't open the garage door and at midnight you can't do anything but sweat it out until the morning (although I did spend an hour trying to prize it back into place).
At 6am the dustmen turned up (they're always early, so this didn't annoy me that much) and just as I kind of dozed back off to sleep that's when it all started, the lady in the bungalow might just as well have bought herself a brand new home for all there is left of it, now at 7am skips were arriving, along with a ton of soil and other lorry loads of stuff and the digger started just after 7.30am (I've since found out that this is illegal and because I was in such a grumpy mood I told her that it was unfair to the families that live here, making sure she knew that I could report her for noise pollution before 9am).
Thankfully Jay was loading his truck and I went to go and see him, he asked if I was ok and I almost burst into tears when I told him what I'd done. He fixed it for me and now we can get back into the garage once again.
Combination of heat, being over tired and complete frustration leads to one very miserable adult.

Birthday Party
It's hard to believe, but my little girl will be 10 years old in 6 weeks time.
For this reason she was desperate to have a birthday party, so we booked the party at the swimming pool with the inflatable and she invited 25 of her friends.
An hour in the pool with the inflatable, which I was told was a pirate ship and they all had a fantastic time. Once they were all changed we went upstairs to have hot dogs and nachos and cakes.
They even had 20 minutes to play bulldog to end the evening.
We didn't want party bags, so I came up with the idea of sweet cones and spent Friday making up these cones and finishing them off with a glow stick when I tied them.
Her friends thought this was fantastic and loved the glow sticks as an extra.
I had thought I'd get away with not making any cakes, instead buying a slab cake in Morrisons, but they only served 15 and I couldn't have cut them any smaller than they already were, so I bought some red, white & blue sprinkles and made 30 fairy cakes.
Again the kids thought these were fabulous and tasty :)
As they were leaving they all thanked us for such a wonderful party and one boy even told Marion her Mum sure knows how to throw a party :)

Panda Christmas
This is the other card we made yesterday. I bought a pack of mini pearls and added them to the tags to give it something different. The pandas are glittered.
I loved making this card too and will certainly be making more from this cd.
I've been and bought all the sweets I need for the party cones and I intend sitting down at the table this afternoon and filling as many as I can before she gets home. Everything has to be done by Friday and I'm buying the cake in Morrisons on Friday morning.

Reindeer Christmas
I loved doing this card in class in today. Completely different and very elegant. We all had a good laugh and lots of fun along the way.
We did make another card, but I wanted to add some gems to mine instead, so bought those and will post a pic tomorrow when I've taken the photo.
After class I popped into Morrisons and got myself a salad for lunch. Tomorrow I need to get some sweets & fill up the cones for her party on Saturday. I'm doing that instead of party bags and will post photos of them when I'm done.
Tonight I plan on finishing the little piece of stitching I started yesterday afternoon, I was going to finish it last night but my sleep pattern is shocking at the moment and I fell asleep in the chair. Needless to say after going up at midnight, I was still awake at 3am getting annoyed at the birds who decided it was time to get up. I did eventually fall asleep, but didn't want to get up when the alarm went off.

Mini Card
This wasn't a difficult card to make, the most difficult part about it was getting the ribbon right.
I really enjoyed making this card, it's nice to do a simple elegant card from time to time.

A Little Stitching
I know most of you don't believe that I stitch any longer and the truth is I don't do much at the moment. Whenever I go to sit down to do it I get interrupted and I also have a daughter who just won't go to bed at a reasonable time and when she does, she's up and down like a yoyo and then I can't be bothered with my stitching.
Anyway I managed to get these two little pieces stitched and made up into tags the other day. Plus I got started on another piece.

Distress Card
This is one that we did on a Leonie workshop. I'm not a fan of Tim Holtz and his grunge style, this reminded me of something he would do.
I do like the end results, but it's not something I would choose to do myself.

Olympic Torch Visit
On June 28th the Olympic torch visited Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and my daughter's class plus a couple of others went to see it.
We had rain, hail, thunder & lightning once we were off the train as we were walking through Mansfield. We were absolutely drenched, even though we had waterproofs on. Luckily for us a school there took us in so we could eat our lunch and dry off a little bit.
Then we walked to the designated area that we had been allocated and armed with our flags we waited patiently. The only things that were going past us were the police on their motorcycles making sure the crowds were cheering.
The police didn't like it if they couldn't hear you cheering. We were told before it started that they would stop until they could hear the cheers and she was correct, this was the police car following the torch bearer and it stopped as we weren't cheering!!!
All in all, in spite of the weather we'd had in the morning it was something not to be missed.
Once we were back we got stuck in another thunder storm, torrential rain and we got soaked through once again walking back to school. Marion was allowed to come home as I was with her and as soon as we were in, we got straight into our pj's and put the heating on.
Mansfield's mascot the stag.
Coca Cola truck passing out coke zero.
cheerleaders on the coca cola truck
The torch bearer, for him the rain had stopped.
Here he is as close to him as we could get.
It was a brilliant
