Alphabet UFO

The other day when I was looking for the chart for my blackwork Japanese lady, I came across my alphabet sampler, which hasn't seen the light of day for many years.

It's by The Cross Eyed Cricket.

I forgot to take a 'before' photo, but I finished stitching the 'H' and have started on the 'I'. I haven't done much, but I plan on sitting down tonight and stitching as much as I can.

I still haven't found the chart or one of the colours for my Japanese Lady, so it looks like I might have to purchase another kit so that I can complete it. When the kit arrives, I plan on stitching on her until she's finished, because she's half completed.

  1. That's horrible about your Japanese Lady! I did some "re-arranging" once and accidentally threw out a pattern for a needlecase kit that I have... so, to this day the kit is still sitting on my shelf, silk threads and all, with no pattern. I considered re-purchasing the kit, but I think it's out of print now and it was a bit expensive.

You're UFO is great! It's awesome that you are working on it again. Do you still grid your fabric like that? I seem to be making a lot of counting errors lately... I think I'm stitching too much when I'm tired... and thought about gridding my fabric, but I've heard it's very time consuming.

  2. I bet you anything Karen, when I've purchased and received the new Japanese Lady kit, I will find it!!

I only gridded this one because it was my very first attempt at using eveweave. Just seems to help me with this particular design though.
